Charlestown-Nevis- Founder and CEO of the Pink Lily Cancer Care Association, Mrs. Lea Parris informed the media on Monday 1st February that the first order for the specially designed braziers for women who have lost one or both breasts, due to being affected by breast cancer, has already been sent off.

According to Mrs. Parris, that first order was placed for ten bras, which will be for specific persons who have already come forward, after the initiative was advertised in December of 2015.

They would have given specific information which include measurements; whether the individual was missing one or both breasts and which specific breast etc. The orders are expected to be honoured in an approximate three weeks period and therefore, the first order of ten should be in shortly.

Mrs. Parris currently has another order for eight more bras for persons from both St.Kitts and Nevis, which will be sent off shortly.
The initiative was put in place by Nevisian born, USA based, Miss Petula Skeete who made the arrangements through world famous Robin Roberts of the ‘Good morning America’ show who is a two time cancer survivor.

Mrs. Parris made a passionate appeal for interested persons to contact her so that they can be given some of the bras. Her number is 664-8360. She also has flyers with the pertinent information at supermarkets, gas stations and other business places across the island.
She also indicated that she continues to conduct relevant lectures at Heath Centers and other gatherings, as often as possible.

She further used the opportunity to seek donations for the Pink Lily Cancer Care Association as she noted that there are still many affected women on the island, who are in need of financial assistance to help them in the treatment for the dreaded scourge.
