Date: October 15th, 2025:The Traffic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has released data from a recent speed monitoring exercise conducted along the Frigate Bay Road, between the first and second roundabouts.
Key Findings:
Total Vehicles Captured: 28
Posted Speed Limit: 20 mph
Average Speed Recorded: 49.1 mph
Average Excess Speed: 29.1 mph above the speed limit
Speed Range: 45 mph (lowest) to 58 mph (highest)
These results indicate that all recorded drivers were travelling well above the legal speed limit, with some reaching nearly three times the allowed speed.
The Police are reminding all motorists that speeding is a major cause of road accidents and are urging drivers to adhere strictly to posted speed limits.
Violators identified during the exercise will receive tickets in accordance with traffic regulations.
