St. Kitts and Nevis congratulates Commonwealth of Dominica on 37 years of Independence

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 04, 2015 (SKNIS)—The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has congratulated the Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica as they celebrate 37 years of Independence.

In a congratulatory letter to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, hailed the resilience of the Dominican people.

“We admire the resilience of your people, who despite the devastating impact of Tropical Storm Erika which threatened their livelihood and the economy, continue to conduct their affairs with professionalism, a sense of devotion and patriotism,” said Prime Minister Harris, adding that “the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis are pleased to celebrate with you on the achievement of this milestone in your history and welcome the opportunity to strengthen the relationship and expand the bonds of friendship between our countries.”

“It gives me great pleasure to take this opportunity to wish you God’s richest blessings and continued guidance, strength, peace and prosperity.

“I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to you, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the assurances of my highest and esteemed consideration,” Prime Minister Harris said.

The Commonwealth of Dominica attained nationhood on November 03, 1978.
