Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis — St. Kitts and Nevis is taking centre stage this week as police welfare representatives from across the Caribbean gather to address issues that affect the well-being, effectiveness, and professional lives of law enforcement officers throughout the region.
While the work of a Police Welfare Association may not always be widely understood, its purpose is fundamental: a supported officer is a better officer, and better-supported officers contribute to safer communities. Police welfare is not a luxury. It is an essential part of building a healthy, resilient, and effective law enforcement service.
The Caribbean Federation of Police Welfare Associations (CFPWA) brings together welfare representatives from more than a dozen Caribbean territories, including Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, and St. Kitts and Nevis. Through regional collaboration and a collective voice, the Federation works to advance matters affecting police officers and strengthen the support systems available to them.
On October 8–9, 2026, the CFPWA will hold its 13th Intercessional Meeting, hosted by the Police Welfare Association of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
The meeting will be held under the theme:
“Together We Stand: United for Welfare, Service and Excellence.”
The theme reflects the importance of solidarity among police welfare organizations across the Caribbean and recognizes that the welfare of officers is closely connected to the quality of service they provide to the communities entrusted to their care.
The RSCNPF Police Welfare Association is proud to welcome its Caribbean colleagues to St. Kitts and Nevis and looks forward to meaningful discussions, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas aimed at strengthening police welfare across the region.
When officers are supported, empowered, and equipped to perform at their best, the communities they serve benefit.
Together, we stand for stronger welfare, stronger service, and safer communities.
