Over 200 loud and vociferous supporters joined Party Leader former Prime Minister the Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas in a slow and boisterous procession through the streets of the St.Kitts Capital.

The Opposition Leaders including MP’s Hon. Konris Maynard, Hon. Marcella Liburd along with Senator Nigel Carty and former Labour Administration Ministers Dr Earl Asim Martin, Richard Skerrit and Glen Ghost Phillp all participated in the protest and handed out leaflets which featured a list which included many political appointees of the former Labour Administration which they claimed were victimized. The leaflet lists some 50 persons whom the Dr. Denzil Douglas led group is claiming the current Team UNITY Administration victimized. The 50 names were less than the over 150 persons that MP Marcella Liburd had said were victimized during an interview on Freedom FM .

Conspicuous by their absence were springtime candidates Dr. Vance Gilbert and Dr. Norgen Wilson. It is not clear though if the two joined the culminating rally at the Ferry Terminal or they were simply missed among the almost dozens of supporters in the procession .

The protest certainly added some more life to downtown Basseterre which was already buzzing in anticipation of the massive SOUNDS OF PEACE Anti-Crime Concert which is scheduled for later in the evening.

Political Observers have declared that the march was easily the smallest Labour Party March in Decades. A fact that is not surprising as the party is still recovering from their defeat at the 2015 polls.
