A security guard Steadroy, “Seamoss” Sutton a resident of Rawlings, Gingerland who was allegedly shot by a police officer on September 19, at the Turtle Times Restaurant premises at Pinneys Beach appeared in the Magistrate’s court, Nevis on Tuesday , Nov 10,2015 Nevis, after receiving summons last Friday that he should appear in court to answer a charge that he beat up the officer.
No charge was read to Sutton when he stood in the dock. Police Prosecutor, Stephen Hector, told the magistrate, the prosecution was not yet prepared to commence a trial. The case was postponed indefinitely. Sutton was accompanied to court by his lawyer.
