Charlestown, Nevis – His name is Llewellyn Caines, but he is popularly known in Nevis and indeed around the world, as Sunshine. The iconic gentleman has the distinction of operating the most popular, and original beach bar on the island.
He has hosted many world-famous people at his beach bar, which is known for its delicious food and satisfying drinks, with the famous KILLER BEE, being much sought after by locals and visitors alike.
Recently, SUNSHINE posed with two more trophies which have been added to his vast collection.
He explained that one was for a federation wide competition for the ‘BEST RUM PUNCH IN THE FEDERATION 2019’, and then other was won during Restaurant week 2019 PEOPLE’S CHOICE – BEST OF NEVIS 2019.’
Asked if he will ever reveal the secrets to his famous KILLER BEE, Caines indicated that it will always be a family secret, in keeping with a promise he made to his grandmother on her death bed but ventured to say that his son, Mandela, has some knowledge about the production.
He took time out to thank the people of Nevis, who have embraced him and made him as ‘one of their own.’ ‘I could not have done it without them,’ he said.
