T&T Blow Away Jamaica; To Chase 50

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (WICB) — Dwayne Bravo led the assault as Trinidad & Tobago bowlers ran riot over Jamaica in the 1st semi-final of the NAGICO Super50 tournament.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, T&T captain Dwayne Bravo justified his own decision by removing both Jamaican openers. Ravi Rampaul good support at the other end. He too eventually took a couple of wickets.

The real slide started when Rayad Emrit was introduced into the attack and he started taking wickets. Before Jamaica knew it, they were 25/6, eventually being bowled out for 49 in 24.2 overs. Emrit ended with 4-19 while Dwayne Bravo took 3-19.

T&T will chase 50 runs to get into the NAGICO Super50 final.

Hosts, Trinidad & Tobago, won the toss and elected to field first in the first semi-final of the NAGICO Super50 tournament at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Both teams made changes to their Starting XIs from their last matches. T&T made just the one change with Imran Khan coming in for the out of form Adrian Barath.

Jamaica made two changes with Horace Miller and Sheldon Cottrell coming out of the starting line-up.

The hosts take on Jamaica in the first semi-final the NAGICO Super50 tournament at the Queen’s Park Oval with both teams trying to book a date in the final.

Jamaica topped Group A by winning all three group matches and therefore setting up a tie with T&T, who placed second in Group B.

Jamaica finished on 13 points in Group A, gaining a bonus point along the way. They also had an impressive Net Run Rate of +0.943. T&T on the other hand lost their opening match against Barbados but bounced back to defeat the Leeward Islands and the Combined Campuses & Colleges.

The second semi-final starts at 2pm T&T Time (1pm Jamaica Time). The toss is scheduled to be taken at 1:30pm T&T Time (12:30 Jamaica Time) at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Tickets for second semi-final match is at $TT40 while tickets for the final costs $TT50.
