TARGETED OPERATIONS CONTINUE TO PRODUCE RESULTS; ONE FIREARM AND A QUANTITY OF DRUGS SEIZED IN EARLY MORNING OPERATION

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 28, 2015 (RSCNPF): Another illegal firearm has been removed from the streets of St. Kitts and Nevis. 

 In furtherance of the implementation of the Six (6) Point Plan of Action, this morning (September 28) members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Special Services Unit (SSU), Anti-Narcotics Unit, Criminal Investigations Division supported by the Forensic Services Unit, executed a number of Search Warrants in the McKnight area.


The searches resulted in the discovery and confiscation of one (1)Taurus .40mm handgun and 10 

40 mm  rounds of ammunition. Three (3) persons , namely Enslie Lewis, Lewis Powell and Peet Douglas were taken into custody and are assisting the police in relation to the find.  

 Additionally,  a quantity of Marijuana was found during a another search on Shaw Avenue and resulted in Tajal Heyliger being taken into police custody in relation to the find.  


Other Search Warrants were executed on properties on Upper Fiennes Avenue and Upper Shaw Avenue. A number of abandoned properties between Upper Shaw and Upper Thibou Avenues were also searched.  


ACP Queeley  echoed that, “we urge anyone with information that can assist the police in our fight against crime, to call any Police Station in the Federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline at 1-800-8477 to share information,” the information is critical to keeping St. Kitts and Nevis safe, he stressed.
