On Monday July 15, 2013 members of the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) formally charged Alston ‘Chocolate’ Francis, 29 years old of Taylor’s Housing for the murder of Collin Merchant of Upper Monkey Hill, which occurred on July 7, 2013 at the Frigate Bay “Strip” Frigate Bay.”
The police press release stated that the Frigate Bay Strip is a place where residents and visitors can still feel free to visit.
Commissioner Walwyn takes this opportunity to thank the men and women of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for following every lead that led to this arrest.
Commissioner Walwyn also take this opportunity to thank members general public for their continued support in the fight to reduce crime within the Federation, which was reduced by 35.8 percent in June this year (2013) over the same period last year.
