Basseterre, May 12, 2015) The Right Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Political Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party and Leader of the Opposition, has recommended to His Excellency the Governor General Sir Edmund Lawrence,the Honourable Nigel A. Carty. as the Labour Party’s Nominated Member/Senator in the National Assembly.
Mr. Carty served as a Minister of State with responsibility for Information and Technology from 2004 to 2010; Minister of Education and Information from 2010 and 2015; and Minister of Agriculture from 2013 to 2015.
Mr. Carty, who holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, was born in Saddlers, St. Kitts. He has been active member of that community and the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party all his life, and has served as Deputy-Chairman of the Party since 2005.
