THG NETWORK OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Charlestown, Nevis, May 9, 2016 (THG News):  The Federation’s newest media network, THG, was officially launched at Riviere House on Government Road on Monday, May 9. THG can now be accessed at www.thg-network.com. The on demand network, which features news, shows, entertainment and other online content, is the brainchild of entrepreneur and well known media personality Mr. Mervin Hanley. Hanley previously worked as Press Secretary to the Premier of Nevis.

Speaking at the launch, Hanley told the invited guests, which included Premier the Hon. Vance Amory, Leader of the Opposition the Hon. Joseph Parry, business leaders, media practitioners and friends and supporters of THG, that he is still “pinching himself”.

“I can’t believe that this is reality. After many challenges and rocky roads, THG Network is here. THG Network is at your fingertips. We can truly say that something good is happening in Nevis….and not only in Nevis, but throughout the entire Caribbean,” Hanley explained.

Speaking to the global reach of THG, Hanley said: “And within the Caribbean communities of states and cities such as New York, Florida, Atlanta and Europe, because what we are providing is a service that will be ‘all things Caribbean’ and a service every Caribbean national can appreciate and celebrate.”

Giving invited comments were both Premier Hon. Vance Amory and Leader of the Opposition the Hon. Joseph Parry. Calling on his vast experience in financial matters, Premier Amory used the opportunity to admonish the management of THG to use well established business practices to ensure effectiveness and longevity. Amory warned that the media industry is very competitive.

In his remarks, the Hon. Joseph Parry observed that Nevisians had always been entrepreneurial, and that THG had come at an appropriate time. Labeling some of what he sees on American television as “stupidness”, Parry urged THG to be mindful of the content it produces, and to seek always to broaden and deepen the democratic process.

Also giving brief remarks was close friend of Hanley, and Legal Advisor to the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) Mr. Collin Tyrell.

First Vice President in charge of Production Mr. Cory Tyson provided a video demonstration outlining the shows now available on the network. They include “The Mervin Hanley Show”, “Out and About” hosted by Shevanee Nisbett, “Island Eatin’” hosted by Patterson Flemming, and “The Real Right Unleashed” hosted by Maurice ‘EK The Real Right’ Flanders.

There will be three (3) news cycles daily at 7am, 12 noon and 7pm.

The entire staff was introduced at the launch. It includes: Mervin Hanley (CEO), Cory Tyson (Executive Vice President in charge of production), Jaedee Caines (Assistant Vice President in charge of Operations, Research and Development), Stevenson Manners (Director of News), Tristan Smithen and Aquin Manners (Production Assistants), Irveeka Nisbett (Executive Personal Assistant), Tanika Thom Fernandes and Kyla Morton (Sales and Marketing Executives), and Melissa Cornelius, Nykeisha Liburd and Meredith Gumbs (Sales Associates).
