St. James Parish, Nevis – A brief but significant ceremony, effectively signalled the opening of a third funeral home on Nevis, on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
Now open to serve the people of Nevis in a more meaningful way, is the Oualie Funeral Home.
It is located at New River estate, next to the popular St. James’ Raceway or the Drag Race track.
The ceremony involved the singing of the national anthem; an invocation and later blessing of the establishment, by Pastor Davidson Morton; welcome remarks and the singing of the hymn, ‘Lead us heavenly Father lead us.’
The master of ceremonies, Mr. Alford Tyrell, delivered brief remarks and remarks were also given by Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley and Area representative, Hon. Alexis Jeffers.
The vote of thanks was done by Ms. Jessenia Jones, who later cut the ribbon, to signal the opportunity for the persons present to tour the facility.
Many persons openly expressed their commendations, as regards the general outlook and makeup of the facility.
