Basseterre, St. Kitts – Nevis is celebrating a proud sporting milestone as three young athletes from the island embark on an exciting new journey to Monroe University in New York on fully funded track and field scholarships.
Anihra Wilkes of Cherry Garden, LaTejah Bailey of Hamilton, and current Monroe standout Kaliyah Jones of Gingerland departed the RLB International Airport to begin the next chapter of their academic and athletic careers.
The trio, all products of the Immortals Track Club, are among the first athletes from the club to secure international scholarships. Their achievement underscores not only their individual talent and dedication but also the growing reputation of Nevis in regional athletics.
“This is a remarkable accomplishment for these young women and for Nevis as a whole,” a club spokesperson noted. “Their success proves that with hard work, discipline, and the right support, our athletes can compete on the global stage.”
The scholarships cover both academic and athletic expenses, offering the athletes a valuable opportunity to pursue higher education while developing their track careers.
As Wilkes, Bailey, and Jones take their talents to New York, the entire Federation joins in applauding their achievement and wishing them continued success.
