Top Prizes Presented For Pre Independence Match

On the evening of Saturday 8th September, an exciting T-20 Cricket match was played between a St. Kitts 20 and under team and their Nevisian counterparts. It was a pre-Independence activity.
The St. Kitts team won the exciting contest which went down to the final over.
Immediately after the match, a brief but impressive ceremony was chaired by the Director of sports on St. Kitts, Mr. Anthony Wiltshire.
The following presentations were made by the Hon. Shawn Richards, Minister of Sports and Mr. Dennis Phillip, Cricket chief on St. Kitts:
Silver medals presented to the Nevis team.
Gold medals presented to the St. Kitts team.
Shaquan Pemberton, for his 24 runs and 2 wickets, was adjudged man of the match-$250.00
Nevis team- a trophy and $500.00
St. Kitts team- A trophy and $1,000.00 dollars
The monetary prizes, trophies and medals were sponsored by the independence committee, of which the Hon. Richards is the chairperson.
