During a session of the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday, May 1, 2025, presided over by Her Honour Rhonda Nisbett-Browne, the following individuals were convicted and fined:
1. **Adan Melendez**, of Pinney’s Beach, Nevis, was convicted of driving without a license, driving without insurance, and driving an unlicensed vehicle. He received the following penalties:
– A fine of $300.00, payable within seven (7) days or fourteen (14) days of imprisonment for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
– A fine of $1,000.00, or two (2) months of imprisonment for driving without a valid driver’s license.
– An additional fine of $1,000.00, or one (1) month of imprisonment for driving without insurance.
2. **Kyle Stevens**, of Keys, was fined $350.00, to be paid within fourteen (14) days, or face one (1) month of imprisonment for driving an unlicensed vehicle.
In addition to the above convictions, twenty-seven (27) ticket matters were withdrawn after proof of payment was confirmed. A total of thirty-seven (37) ticket matters have been adjourned to August 7, 2025, while fifteen (15) accident matters have been adjourned to August 14, 2025.
