The Licensing Authority wishes to advise all motorists and the general public that, pursuant to the powers vested in it under Section 2(1) of the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 15.06, the official lighting period for all motor vehicles operating within the Federation has been revised.
Effective Friday, June 26, 2026, all motor vehicles are required to display their lights during the following hours:
🕖 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day
Motorists are reminded that operating a vehicle without the required lights during the prescribed lighting period is an offence under the law and may result in enforcement action.
The Licensing Authority thanks all road users for their cooperation in helping to promote road safety throughout the Federation.
