The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), through its Traffic Department, continues to strictly enforce the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act. During recent sittings at the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court, several motorists were convicted of serious traffic offences.
These convictions highlight the consequences of unsafe driving practices and underscore the importance of compliance with the law by all road users.
Convictions and Penalties:
Issam Ferchichi of Frigate Bay — Fined $1,000 or one (1) month imprisonment for Driving Without Due Care and Attention.
Odaine Curtis Wright of Lodge Project — Sentenced to two (2) months imprisonment for Driving Without Insurance and six (6) months concurrent imprisonment for Obstruction. He was also cautioned for Driving Without a Valid License and Failing to Comply with Traffic Directions.
Anton Dextrose Ward of Nevis Street — Fined $1,000 forthwith for Driving Without Insurance; $500 each for Seatbelt Violation, Driving Without a Valid License, and Giving a False Name. He was also cautioned for driving with One Headlamp.
Paul Whyte of Lodge Village — Fined $500 forthwith for Exceeding the Speed Limit.
The Traffic Department reminds all motorists that road safety is a shared responsibility. The RSCNPF will continue its zero-tolerance approach to reckless and unlawful driving across the Federation.
