The new champions of the Bank of Nevis Basseterre Zone Public Primary School Athletic Championship were crowned on Friday, January 23, at the Kim Collins Athletics Stadium, following an exciting day of competition.
A large and enthusiastic crowd turned out to witness the thrilling showdown among the four public primary schools in the city of Basseterre. At the end of the meet, Tucker Clarke Primary School emerged victorious, capturing an impressive 23 gold medals to secure a well-deserved championship title and bring an end to the long-standing reign of the Dr William Connor Primary School.
Commendations are also extended to Halliday Smith Primary School(formerly Irish Town Primary) and Beach Allen Primary Schoolfor their strong and commendable performances throughout the competition.
The Bank of Nevis was praised for its continued investment in the development of youth and athletics, while special recognition was also given to the Department of Sport, St. Kitts, for its tremendous efforts in organising and successfully staging the event.
The championship once again highlighted the depth of young athletic talent within the Basseterre Zone and underscored the importance of sustained support for grassroots sports development.
