Charlestown-Nevis-Thursday 12th December will be a significant one for a number of teenagers within the federation of St.Kitts and Nevis. That is when the annual ceremony celebrating the achievements of the twenty-five most remarkable teens in the federation for the year 2015, will be held.
The ceremony will be held at the Government headquarters in Basseterre, at the house of parliament.
This was revealed on Tuesday by Youth Officer at the Youth and Sports Department, Miss Lesa Mills.
She noted that the annual event is hosted by the Youth Empowerment Department in St.Kitts.
Without revealing any names, she stated that this year, Nevis has secured seven of the twenty-five nominees. Last year’s number was nine.
She also shared information as to how persons can nominate young achievers each year. Persons can fill out application forms, starting in June of each year and nominate young people between the ages of 13 to 19. Forms are available at the Department of Youth and Sports; at the Secondary schools and at the Ministry of Social Development.
The nomination process is followed by an interview segment and then the final selection process, when officials from both islands, meet to make the final choices for the 25 most remarkable teens.
As per usual, Ministers of government will personally salute and award the nominees during the prestigious ceremony.
