Two Arrested and Charged For Marijuana Seized During Early Morning Search in Newton Ground

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November, 28, 2015 (RSCNPF): Two persons have been arrested and charged for possession of cannabis as a result of a joint early morning search operation conducted on Friday (November 27) in the Mc Knight and Newton Ground areas.

The searches were executed in the ongoing effort to rid communities of illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition.

During the search on a property in Newton Ground, a quantity of cannabis was found. The residents, Jeremiah Locker, a 25 year old male, and Kemoy Jeffers, a 26 year old male both of Newton Ground were taken into custody. Both were charged with Possession of Cannabis, and have been granted bail.

Commenting on the morning’s search activity, Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime noted, “the teams are clearly demonstrating a commitment to removing illegal drugs and firearms from our communities. The teams are proving the importance of teamwork, and the results of the last few weeks clearly demonstrates that. We salute our officers for their continued vigilance in the fighting crime and criminal activity.”

ACP Queeley added, “we encourage persons to continue to partner with us, we ask anyone with information that can assist the police in our fight against crime, to call any Police Station in the Federation or Crime Stoppers, our confidential hotline at 1-800-8477 to share information,” the information is critical to keeping St. Kitts and Nevis safe, he stressed.
