Two Graduate from Montessori Academy

Charlestown-Nevis-It was not a large gathering by any stretch of the imagination, but the parents, siblings and other supporters of the Montessori Academy, showed up in solidarity with the two graduating students, on their significant day-Thursday 4th July.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Shiloh Baptist church, located at Ramsbury and was ably chaired by Teacher Miss Deslyn Wilkinson.
The ceremony which was held under the theme ‘Use your gifts,’ commenced with a march in of the Graduants; a prayer by Deslyn Johnson and the national anthem, beautifully rendered on keyboard by Jazzique Chiverton.
Principal, Ms. Denise Morgan then gave welcoming remarks, during which she saluted the efforts of the two graduating students and wished them every success, as they continue their academic journey, at the secondary level.
Thereafter, the children from the other classes of the school, teamed up to render songs, instrumentals and poems, mainly dedicated to the two students.
The upper elementary class also came up with a nicely edited video presentation entitled ‘Goodbye.’
Education Officer, Mr. Shefton Liburd delivered the feature address, during which he beseeched the two students to use their gifts to God’s honour and glory, or they will lose them.
The two students, Alixandria Johnson and Maeva Colt, then had the opportunity to address the audience and did so quite eloquently, as they thanked their parents, teachers, fellow students and all who would have helped them on their academic journey thus far.
Maeva also wowed the audience with an original poem and Alixandria also thrilled the gathering as she rendered a song.
There was the official presentation of certificates and gifts to the students and a special presentation by the two tiny tots from the school, who represented so well at the recent Prince and Princess show, held during child month.
The ceremony ended on a high note, with the two students walking smartly from the church, to be later whisked away by a waiting limousine.
