Two murders in the Federation in the space of four hours-Murders 20 and 21 for 2016

(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)-Reports reaching this media house indicate that a local businessman in the fishing industry was robbed and murdered today, Monday, July 25, 2016.

It was alleged, that the unfortunate event took place in Jessups Village in the parish of St. Thomas’ sometime between the hours of 2:30p.m and 3:00 p.m.

His demise marked the 21st murder thus far for 2016 in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Earlier, at about 11:30 a.m. the Federation recorded its 20th murder in St. Kitts. That murder took place at the corners of Cardin Avenue and St. Johnson Avenue. Dead in that instance is Clevaughn ‘Fetti’ Berkley of St. Johnson Village. Berkley was said to be sitting on a bench along with some other young men when a gunman opened fire on them. Berkely was said to be shot in his head and about the body. He succumbed to his wounds at the JNF Hospital.

These murders followed on the heel of murders 18 and 19 that took place in McKnight on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

Police are currently investigating the tragic incidents.
