Two nationals of Guyana robbed at gun point in Cane Garden on Sunday night

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Unconfirmed reports reaching this media house indicate that two nationals of Guyana, but who reside in Nevis were robbed at gunpoint on the night of Sunday, May 20, 2013 in the Cane Garden area of St. John’s Parish, Nevis.

Reports are that the perpetrators blocked the road in the area with stones and a trashcan and approached the vehicle in which the two persons were traveling. The perpetrators then approached the vehicle and demanded whatever valuables the victims had in their possession. After the robbery, the perpetrators ask the victims to get out of the vehicle and the assailants used the said vehicle to make their escape. The vehicle is said to be owned by a retired police officer.

Further reports indicate that the vehicle was retrieved sometime later.

Reports are that there were three perpetrators all armed. One of the victims is said to have indicated that she has never seen ‘longer guns’.

Police are said to be investigating the matter.
