Two released as investigation into the armed robbery and shooting of Qualie Beach hotelier continues

Charlestown, Nevis, November 15, 2018 – Two of the four men arrested in the armed robbery and shooting of Nevis’ Oualie Beach hotelier, John Yearwood, have been released.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Hilroy Brandy is quoted by WINNFM as saying that a third man is still hospitalised at Nevis’ Alexandra Hospital while the fourth is in police custody.
Brandy said investigations are continuing into the November 8 Jones Estate home invasion in the wee hours of the morning by two masked and armed men.
Yearwood and his wife were in bed when he observed a moving light in the bedroom. He fired his weapon and believed to have injured one. The men made their escape with an undisclosed amount of cash in Yearwood’s pickup.
Police said acting on a tipoff two men with gunshot injuries were captured as they were in a vehicle bound for St. Kitts on the Seabridge.
Brandy told WINNFM that DNA samples have been sent overseas for testing, while ballistic tests are being done locally.
