Up Date : Police Investigating Robbery at Oualie Beach Hotel

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 19, 2018 (RSCNPF): Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at the Oualie Beach Hotel on May 18. The Charlestown Police Station received the armed robbery report at about 8:45 p.m. and Officers responded.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the Security Guard at the Hotel was accosted by two masked individuals. He was beaten in the head with what is believed to be a firearm, then pulled inside to the reception desk. The receptionist was then held at gunpoint and forced to open the vault. A sum of money was taken from the vault and a number of personal items, including money, were also taken from the Security Guard before the assailants fled the scene.

The Officers searched the immediate and surrounding areas and interviewed a number of persons. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this incident are urged to call the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391 or their nearest Police Station.
