Update on Primary Schools Cricket Tournament

IWPS v VOJN

Despite the generally rainy outlook, matches continued in the Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket tournament on Tuesday, 8th July, at the Ramsbury grounds.

In match one, defending champions Ivor Walters Primary won comprehensively over the VOJN Primary.
Ivor Walters Primary batted first and scored 120 for 2.
T’Vern Herbert top scored with 56.
VOJN could only manage 48 for 7 in their 12 allotted overs.
The Herbert twins and Thomas got two wickets each.

In game two, a rain-affected encounter, St. Thomas’ Primary got the better of St. James’ Primary.
St. James Primary scored 32 for 5 in 9.1 overs, and St. Thomas’ Primary overhauled the target in 3.2 overs.
In the final match of the day, St. Thomas’ Primary batted first versus Joycelyn Liburd Primary.
St. Thomas’ got to 61 for 1 in 8 overs before heavy rain put an end to the proceedings.
Match abandoned.

The local cricket fans now eagerly await word on which team will join the Maude Cross Preparatory School in the much-anticipated finals.
