Vance Amory International Airport sees inaugural Tradewind Aviation flight

The Vance W. Amory International Airport was the venue on Saturday, November 02, 2013for the inaugural flight of the Tradewind Aviation from San Juan to Nevis.

The flight which left San Juan Puerto Rico about 8:00 a.m. touched down in Nevis at about 9:10 a.m.
A short ceremony followed the touch down at the Vance W. Amory International Airport, Newcastle, Nevis.

Remarks at the ceremony came from Hon. Ricky Skerritt- Minister of Tourism and International Transport, in the Federal Government; Hon. Vance Amory, Premier of Nevis; Hon. Mark Brantley- Minister of Tourism, Nevis, and representatives of Tradewind Aviation.

Also on hand for the ceremony were managers of Four Seasons Resort, Mount Nevis, Coconut Grove, members of the local Tourism Authority and other members of the Nevis Island Administration.

Immediately following the ceremony, persons assembled where able to view the aircraft and socialize over light refreshments.
This San Juan- Nevis route was the latest one added to the airline’s already established Caribbean routes. Tradewind Aviation already operates flights to Anguilla and St. Barth’s.

Flights from Nevis would be operated on Thursday and Mondays. The flight would depart San Juan at 8:00 a.m. and arrive in Nevis at 9:10 a.m. The return leg would depart Nevis at 5:30 p.m. to arrive in San Juan 6:40 p.m.

The Tradewind crafts are eight (8) seater Pilatus PC-12 and Grand Caravan aircraft that would include complimentary drinks, wine and beer and a ‘business class style cabin’.

The roundtrip fee is Eastern Caribbean One Thousand One Hundred and Seventy Four Dollars ($1174.00 XCD) or United States Four Hundred and Thirty Five Dollars ($435.00 USD).
