Michael WISE Herbert, chief coordinator of the Village Premier league, has indicated that the grand finals which is set for this coming Sunday-12th of May, will be a massive affair.
Quite apart from the regular sponsors, the Culturama committee has chosen to be on board for the grand event and will be doing promotions and giveaways in galore.
According to WISE, persons will be able to win tickets to shows for the upcoming festival, among other prizes.
As per usual, spectators taking catches, whether one handed or two handed, would be able to secure monetary prizes.
The action bowls off at 1.30 pm with the third place clash between the Jahbass team and the SDA Jets and then at 3 pm, it will be the much anticipated clash between the top two teams: Defending champs, the Guyanese and home based team, the King’s X1.
At the break, there will also be a live performance by Soca Monarch-Deli Ranks.
The chief coordinator took time out to explain that the league was conceptualized in order to bring the community and families together in a wholesome environment.
He is happy to note that the crowds continue to grow week after week and persons have expressed their joy at the entertainment that they receive week after week.
He also expressed gratitude to the many sponsors who have served to make the league even more exciting and he also had warm appreciation for the officials and those persons who assist him in ensuring that the league is a success.
The chief organizer is also encouraging groups, churches etc. to utilize the grounds for their various activities and noted that within the next several weeks, no fewer that six groups, have already booked the grounds for upcoming events.
He is looking forward to the day, when his ultimate dream will become a reality, for the grounds to be named in honour of former Windies star player, Runako Morton
