The 2019 edition of the VPL Cricket league, bowled off on Sunday 17th February, at the Hard Times play field.
It commenced with opening remarks by chief coordinator of the league, Michael WISE Herbert and the feature address by Minster of Sports, Hon. Eric Evelyn; who lauded the organizers for the community spirited tournament.
He also took strike from a ball bowled by Clifford BOMBO Walwyn and promptly dispatched it to the square leg boundary, to signal the start of the league.
This was followed by an exciting match between the Jah Bass team and the King’s X1.
It was won by the Jah Bass team in an exciting finish.
Jah Bass team got to 103 for 7 and the King’ X1 managed 94 for 6 from their 12 overs.
The action continues this coming Sunday 24th February.
