**Walter Morton Passes**
Charlestown, Nevis – Nevis has lost a cherished son.
The news broke early on Monday morning, June 16th, that Walter Morton had succumbed to illness and quietly passed away into the great beyond.
Walter was a dedicated teacher and later served for many years with the Social Security Board, where he made significant contributions in data collection and public relations campaigns. He was a man of many words—creative, innovative, with a quick wit and an impish grin, full of humour.
An ardent sports fan, he had a special love for cricket and typically had a front-row seat at local games. As a former cricket commentator, his descriptions of the ongoing matches were always highly anticipated.
Walter also enjoyed a successful career as a beloved talk show host. His popular Saturday morning show on 20/20 Vision radio, titled “The Good Old Days,” was his brainchild, developed in collaboration with Chesley Manners. His previous political show, “Breakfast Menu,” was also a huge hit with listeners.
As a master of ceremonies, Walter was unmatched, often leaving his audiences in stitches without resorting to vulgarity.
He will be sorely missed. Today, we honor his memory.
