Wesleyan Women International Donate To Teen Mothers’ Scholarship Fund

Charlestown-Nevis- Mrs. Trecia Daniel took time out to indicate that the Wesleyan Women International group was celebrating forty years of existence and in that regard they decided to host a motivational workshop to assist a group of persons who they felt needed the help and guidance.

They chose to assist the Teen mothers group that is coordinated by the Gender Affairs Division within the Social Services Department.
At a session held at the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union’s conference room on Thursday 6th October, teen mothers from across the island were treated to a motivational session featuring some dynamic young women speakers from within the community:
Mrs. Shenella Parry; Mrs. Tamecia Lestrade and Elvira Hobson.

Mrs. Meredith Pemberton, in handing over a cheque to the teen mothers’ scholarship fund, stated that her group wanted to assist in the success of such an important program which is seeking to assist teen mothers.
Mrs. Ivorcia Browne, Coordinator of the teen mothers second chance program, expressed her gratitude for the funds and indicated that ‘the girls will make great use of it.’
The Three presenters then spoke to the young ladies and sought to motivate them into positive pathways of life.
