Windies Bowlers Take a Beating

The West Indies players all looked jaded as they walked off the field at tea time on day two of the ongoing test match versus India.
Small wonder, because in a day and two sessions, India had racked up all of 649 for 9 declared in only 149.5 overs.
This, in the first test match in the current test series between the two test nations.
Included in that mammoth score were no fewer than three centuries and two ‘ALMOST’, as exuberant wicket keeper Pant, threw away his on 92 and Pujara lost out on 86.
Debutant Shaw, Skipper Kohli, then add to that, home town boy Jadeja, getting his first test ton, as the icing on the cake.
The bowlers?
None of them had figures they would be proud to write home about. Leg spinner Bishoo, went for over 200 and off spinner Chase, cleared the hundred mark.
The fast bowlers also came in for a beating too.
The hope will be that despite such a massacre, the West Indians will realize that there is no devil in the pitch and go out and dish out some punishment of their own.
But then again, it’s the West Indies team. Only time will tell…
Summarized scores up to tea time on day two: India 649 for 9 declared: Virat Kohli 139; Prithvi Shaw 134; Ravindra Jadeja 100*; Rishabh Pant 92; Cheteshwar Pujara 86
Devendra Bishoo 4 for 217; Shermon Lewis 2 for 93; Kraigg Brathwaite 1 for 47; Shannon Gabriel 1for 84; Roston Chase 1 for 137
