Young Swimmers Take on 3K Channel Challenge

On Saturday, February 28th, twelve young swimmers took on the demanding 3K channel swim, demonstrating determination, resilience, and outstanding sportsmanship in open water.

Representing three local swim clubs—Blue Marlin Swim Club, SwimRite Swim Club, and Bring It Swim Club—these athletes showed remarkable courage, discipline, and heart as they battled the elements and pushed themselves across the channel.

For some swimmers, the event was about the experience and the personal challenge of completing the course. Others used the swim as a qualifier for the upcoming Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim, one of the region’s most exciting open-water races.

Adding to the excitement, four swimmers went head-to-head, competing fiercely for a single qualifying spot to represent Saint Kitts and Nevis at the prestigious CARIFTA Aquatic Championships.

Huge congratulations go out to every swimmer who completed the course—an incredible accomplishment that reflects the strength and future of swimming in the federation.

Special thanks also go to the kayak volunteers and safety boats whose dedication and vigilance ensured the swimmers’ safety throughout the challenging open-water event. Their support played a vital role in making the swim a success.
