We are delighted to welcome 15-year-old Ajernee of Saint Kitts and Nevis as the newest UNICEF Youth Advocate in the Eastern Caribbean.
A passionate defender of children’s rights, inclusion, and non-discrimination, Ajernee draws on her lived experience growing up in Nevis to champion the needs of children who are too often left behind—especially those pursuing opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Ajernee is already an accomplished youth leader. She serves with Youth Health and the Technovation Nevis Girls Chapter, is a member of the Ministry of Education’s Student Ambassador Programme, and is an active Child Rights Ambassador. Her commitment to advocacy and empowerment has made her a compelling and influential voice for her peers.
From being the youngest speaker at UNICEF’s 2025 Menstrual Hygiene Day panel to representing young people at the XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, Ajernee continues to highlight the urgent need to address the unequal burden of unpaid care work on adolescent girls.
Join us in celebrating Ajernee as she continues her mission to help shape a fairer, more inclusive future for every child.
