Charlestown, Nevis – The excitement was palpable at ET Willet Park on Sunday, as nine schools competed in the annual Soccerama, the thrilling curtain-raiser to the 2025 Primary Schools Football League.
Participating schools included Charlestown Primary, Nevis Academy, Montessori, St. Thomas’ Primary, Ivor Walters Primary, Maude Cross Preparatory, VOJN Primary, and Elizabeth Pemberton Primary. Sadly, St. James’ Primary was unable to participate this year.
The large crowd in attendance was treated to fast-paced football action, with games played in two 8-minute halves on dual courts. After a spirited round of preliminary matches, two standout teams emerged: Joycelyn Liburd Primary (JLPS) and St. Thomas’ Primary.
In the grand finale, both teams displayed grit and determination. However, St. Thomas’ Primary capitalised on key opportunities, scoring twice while keeping JLPS at bay. The final whistle sealed a 2–0 victory, crowning St. Thomas’ Primary the 2025 Soccerama Champions.
The official opening of the 2025 Primary Schools Football League kicks off at ET Willet Park on Friday, October 3rd at 2:30 p.m., with an opening ceremony followed by the season’s first match. Regular match days will be held on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
