Basseterre, St. Kitts
Zenhastel Odel Hector Jr., of Half-Moon Heights, Frigate Bay, St. Kitts, has been arrested and formally charged with multiple offences in connection with the importation and possession of cannabis.
On September 22, 2025, officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) responded to a report from the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport regarding a suspected drug importation.
During the investigation, officers discovered six (6) vacuum-sealed packages containing a vegetable material suspected to be cannabis inside Mr Hector’s luggage. The substance was processed by the Crime Scene Unit, taken into Police custody, and subsequently confirmed to be cannabis.
Following the investigation, on October 9, 2025, Mr Hector was charged with the following offences:
Importation of Cannabis
Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply
Additionally, the Customs and Excise Department charged Mr. Hector with the following offences under Customs regulations:
Presenting a False Declaration
Importation of Cannabis
Intent to Deceive a Customs Officer
The RSCNPF reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with all national security and border control agencies to combat the illegal importation and distribution of controlled substances and to uphold the laws of the Federation.
