Football : Superstars to Retire Number 28 in Honour of Shervin King

The Village Superstars Football Club has announced that jersey number 28 will be permanently retired across all levels of the club in honour and memory of former player Shervin King.

In a statement, the club said the decision recognises not only King’s immense contribution to the club’s successes over the years but also the lasting impact he made on teammates, colleagues, supporters and the wider football community.

“The club can now officially announce that squad number 28 will be retired in honour and memory of Shervin King across all levels,” the statement read.

“Therefore, we can only say this is a unique tribute to a uniquely wonderful person,” the statement continued. “By retiring this squad number, we are making it eternal – and therefore never to be forgotten.”

The club concluded its announcement with the heartfelt message: “Forever in our hearts #28.”
