CHARLESTOWN — Government Road All-Stars claimed ultimate bragging rights on Sunday, July 19th, defeating Highlights International by 117 runs to capture the NCA 40-Overs Championship title.

Opting to bat first, the All-Stars mounted a formidable total of 252 for 6 in their allotted 40 overs. The innings was anchored by strong half-centuries from Carlon Bowen-Tuckett, who top-scored with a crisp 63, and Akil Greenidge, who added a crucial 62. Adrian Williams and Ulano Smithen were the pick of the bowlers for Highlights, taking two wickets apiece.

In response, Highlights International struggled to build momentum against a disciplined All-Stars bowling attack and were bundled out for just 135. Adrian Williams completed a solid all-round performance with 24 runs, while Theron Bussue and Tayshawn Wilkinson chipped in with 22 each.

The All-Stars’ bowling effort was a team affair, with Sharma, Ross Powell, and Carmichael each picking up two wickets to seal the comprehensive 117-run victory and lift the championship trophy.
