BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) is extending its destination and festival promotion to St. Kitts and Nevis from August 21–26, with key activities aimed at boosting regional travel to Dominica.
According to a DDA press release, the campaign will spotlight the upcoming World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), scheduled for October 23–25, 2026, as well as Mas Domnik—Dominica’s Carnival—which culminates on February 8–9, 2027.
The initiative includes participation in an American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) event, public pop-ups, a Dominica Destination Cocktail, and several radio and television interviews.
Public promotional activities kick off on August 21 with events at No Rush Bar in Basseterre (6:00–7:00 PM), Chill Bar in Nevis (8:30–9:30 PM), and Vibes Beach Bar & Grill in Frigate Bay (12:00 AM–1:00 AM). Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Dominica team, learn about travel to the Nature Island, and enter giveaways for WCMF tickets.
Featured entertainment includes Benji of TK International and St. Kitts and Nevis’ own DJ Tero, both of whom are set to perform at WCMF 2026. The duo will also perform at the invitation-only Destination Cocktail on August 24 from 7:00–9:00 PM at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, bringing together travel advisers, tour operators, media professionals, influencers, and key tourism partners.
DDA representatives Wendy Lake, Monelle Alexis, Kareem Guiste, and Wayne Benjamin will lead the promotional tour.
The WCMF 2026 lineup features high-profile acts including NE-YO, Machel Montano, Uncle Waffles, Maxi Priest, TK International, and DJ Tero. The campaign will also showcase Mas Domnik’s vibrant music, costumes, pageantry, traditional characters, and iconic street celebrations.
The DDA highlighted that this promotional campaign forms part of its broader strategy to strengthen regional tourism partnerships and generate demand for travel to Dominica.
Key Improvements Made
Punctuation & Formatting: Replaced the equals sign (=) after the dateline with an em-dash (—), which is standard AP Style for press releases.
Verb Agreement & Capitalization: Fixed capitalization in the headline (Takes instead of takes) and adjusted verb usage for better flow (extending instead of taking).
Time Standards: Formatted times cleanly and consistently (e.g., 6:00–7:00 PM and 12:00 AM–1:00 AM instead of midnight–1 AM).
Oxford Comma & Readability: Added the Oxford comma in lists for clarity (e.g., Wendy Lake, Monelle Alexis, Kareem Guiste, and Wayne Benjamin).
Attribution: Smoothed out indirect quotes to read more like a direct, polished corporate press release.
