BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — The St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Persons with Disabilities (SKNAPD) is appealing to individuals, businesses, contractors, suppliers, and members of the wider community for assistance in completing an accessible bathroom at the Accessible Eden Farmstead.
Accessible Eden Farmstead provides persons with disabilities with hands-on training in climate-smart agriculture, food production, and livelihood skills, creating opportunities for participants to develop practical skills while promoting greater inclusion and independence.
While the farm is already operational, work remains to be completed on the training facility, including plastering, tiling, electrical work, installation of doors and windows, and painting.
SKNAPD has identified completion of the accessible bathroom as its immediate priority. A fully functional and accessible bathroom will allow more persons with disabilities to participate safely and comfortably in activities at the farm and remain on-site for extended periods.
Materials and Assistance Needed
SKNAPD is currently seeking donations or assistance with:
Cement
Floor and wall tiles
Tile grout
Six windows
Three doors — one entrance door and two interior doors
Interior and exterior paint
Skilled labour for plastering, tiling, electrical work, and painting
The Association has expressed appreciation to those who have already contributed to the initiative, including volunteers who have offered their time and one supporter who has pledged five bags of cement.
However, additional support is still needed to complete the project.

Donating building materials
Sponsoring the purchase of a specific item
Providing skilled labour
Sharing the appeal with their networks
SKNAPD is asking potential donors to contact the Association before purchasing materials so that the correct measurements, quantities, and specifications can be confirmed.
Building a More Inclusive Community
The completion of the accessible bathroom will represent an important step toward creating a more inclusive environment where persons with disabilities can access training, develop agricultural and livelihood skills, and participate more fully in community life.
“Every contribution will help us remove another barrier and create more opportunities for persons with disabilities to learn, work and participate,” the Association said.
