The grand final of the exciting Blackett-Pemberton Football Series took place on Tuesday evening, September 8, with plenty of drama both on and off the field.

One player who drew considerable attention leading into the games was Shari, whose name had been making the rounds after a video recently went viral.

Shari, who represents South Stars, was scheduled to face Showtime in the third-place playoff. Before the game, however, he took time out to sit down for an interview with Sportscaster Curtis Morton.

During the interview, Morton formally apologised to Shari in connection with the viral video. Shari, for his part, made it clear that he understood the spirit in which the video was intended.

“It is all fun,” Shari said. “What is a game without some good commentary?”

But Shari was not finished. With a smile, he made a prediction about what he intended to do once he stepped onto the field.

“I will make that net shook,” he declared, cleverly playing on the phrase that had featured prominently in the viral video.

True to his word, Shari found the back of the net.

He scored South Stars’ lone goal of the match, converting from the penalty spot to provide a consolation goal for his team.

The moment was met with a huge roar of approval from the crowd, who clearly appreciated the fact that Shari had managed to turn the viral moment into a memorable piece of football theatre.

The net was indeed ‘SHOOK’.
