The weather in St. Kitts and Nevis is getting wetter and stormier today. A tropical wave is bringing more moisture and could cause showers and thunderstorms for the rest of today and tonight.
There is also some Saharan dust in the air. This may stop some areas from getting a lot of rain, but short showers can still happen.
🌧️ What to Expect Tonight
Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a 65% to 70% chance of rain. Some thunderstorms may also happen.
Winds will blow from the east at about 10 to 20 mph (17 to 31 km/h). During heavy showers or storms, wind gusts could reach 30 mph (48 km/h).
☀️ Better Weather Tomorrow
The good news is that the weather should get much better on Thursday, September 10.
There should be some sunshine, and the chance of rain will drop to about 30%. Friday and the weekend should bring mostly clearer and calmer weather.
🌊 Be Careful at Sea
A Small Craft Advisory is still in effect.
The sea is rough, with waves about 5 to 7 feet (1.5 to 2.1 metres) high, especially on the Atlantic side of the islands.
Small boats should be very careful. People should avoid going into rough water for activities such as snorkeling, boating and water-taxi trips. It is safer to stay in calm, protected bays until the sea settles down.
