Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 14, 2026 — The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis advises the public that Independence Day 2026 will be observed on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in accordance with the Public Holidays Act, Cap. 23.23.

As Independence Day falls on a Saturday this year, the public holiday will be observed on Saturday, September 19.

The public is reminded that Friday, September 18, and Monday, September 21, 2026, are regular working days and are not public holidays. Businesses, schools, government offices and other institutions are therefore expected to operate as normal on both days.
