A Call Goes Out For Local Coaches

Cricket West Indies (CWI’s) Cricket Development Officer on Nevis, Stascius Wallace, took time from his busy schedule, earlier in the week, to make a call for Cricket Coaches on Nevis.

According to Wallace, the West Indies Cricket Board is facilitating the training of coaches at all levels, which will only help to enhance the game in the region.

He pointed out that there was a lack of qualified coaches on Nevis and urged all interested, to get on board and grab the opportunities being offered for training and elevation.
He stated that most of the local coaches within the schools, were trained at the foundation level but there is an urgent need for more qualified coaches.

Presently in Nevis, only Stascius, Tonito Willet and his sister Saneldo, have completed the level one course. Carl Tuckett has qualified at level two and Stuart Williams has qualified at level three.

For the level three trainer aspect, only two persons in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis have qualified. They are Kittitians Steve Liburd and Junie Mitchum.

Wallace noted that there is no restriction on age, once a person is interested in attempting the courses, they can register with Cricket West Indies, through him.
