Abena Amory Receives “Making Your Country Proud Award” at Envogue Gala

Abena Amory has been honoured with the “Making Your Country Proud Award” by the Barbados and Friends Mental Health Awareness Association USA during the organisation’s EnVogue Gala, held on Saturday evening.

The award recognises individuals whose work, advocacy, and service have made meaningful contributions to their communities while bringing positive recognition to their country.

In accepting the award, Ms Amory expressed her gratitude to the organisers, supporters, and everyone involved in the event, noting that the recognition was particularly meaningful because it acknowledged work to which she is deeply committed.

“Receiving this recognition is both humbling and inspiring,” Ms Amory said. “I share this honour with all those who continue to champion mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and help build stronger, healthier communities.”

Ms. Amory also reaffirmed her commitment to advancing mental health awareness and supporting initiatives that promote community well-being and resilience.

The EnVogue Gala forms part of the Barbados and Friends Mental Health Awareness Association USA’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness, encourage advocacy, and foster meaningful conversations surrounding mental health throughout Caribbean and diaspora communities.

The award presentation was attended by supporters, community leaders, advocates, and distinguished guests from across the region and the diaspora.
