Antiguan Politician Implicated in British Billionaire Bribery Scandal Resigns

The Minister of Investment and Trade- Honourable Asot Michael has tendered his resignation.

According to Prime Minister Gaston Browne, this decision was taken after hours of discussion.

The Prime Minister wrote to the Governor General Sir Rodney Williams, accepting Michael’s resignation.

Asot Michael is facing fresh allegations that while being Minister of Energy in 2016, he demanded money, a car and campaign financing from now scandal hit-British billionaire property tycoon investor, Peter Virdee.
