Archibald’s Heroics Not Enough to Save Leewards Blushes

Nevisian, Kezron Colin Archibald, is developing into a fine allrounder for the Leewards Hurricanes unit.

In the most recent match, when his team engaged the Barbados Pride at Warner Park, Archibald got 2 wickets when he bowled and then made 15 in the first innings and a smashing 53, in the second innings, to be the top scorer.

Trailing by 217 runs, the Leewards had an even more disastrous start to their second innings and soon found themselves precariously placed on 70 for 7.  Enter Kezron Colin Archibald and he proceeded to belt the Bajan bowlers all around Warner Park.

He teamed up with Amir Jango in a partnership of 62 runs, which for a moment breathed hope into the Leewards camp.  Archibald smashed 4 fours and 4 sixes in his 32 ball 53 and was the last man to go.  His heroics, however, were not enough to save his team from a comprehensive innings defeat.

Summarized scores:

Leewards 181 all out: Kieran Powell 76
Camarie Boyce 5 for 65
Barbados 398 all out: Shamarh Brookes 116
Rahkeem Cornwall 4 for 104
Leewards 136 for 9 (all out)-Kezron Colin Archibald 53
Chemar Holder 3 for 33

Barbados won by an innings and 81 runs
