Art Lovers Receive Rare Treat

Charlestown-Nevis—If ever there was an Artists’ heaven, it would have been at the Charlestown Gallery and it would have been more pronounced on Sunday 24th January.

The Charlestown Gallery was indeed the venue for a rare display and exhibition of the magnificent productions of local artists, based on the island of Nevis. The event was held on Sunday January 24th January.

An impressive number of persons showed up at the exhibition and had the opportunity to meet and talk with the local artistes, view their creative work and maybe most importantly, purchase some of the choice items on sale.
The works of no fewer than sixteen artists were featured and the wide variety of pieces on display, included creations in acrylic; pastels; water colours; fabric; wood and stone carvings; photography and there was a sculpture created with the use of the discarded one cent and two cents pieces.

Owner of the gallery, Mrs. Debra Tyrell, deemed the day a success and noted that quite a number of ‘new faces’ showed up at the event which could only spell a positive outlook and appreciation for local art.
She used the opportunity to invite the general public to visit the art gallery, which is located next to the DR Walwyn Plaza.
The opening hours are: Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 12.00 noon.
