Athletics : Half Island Road Relay Set for End of March

The SKN Moves-Nevis Chapter, will be hosting its first event for the year 2022, on Saturday 26TH March.

This was revealed at a press conference, held at the Administration Building conference room, in Charlestown, on Thursday 24th February.

The press conference was ably chaired by Ms. Sheilagh James and there were brief presentations from David Walwyn of the National Weight Loss program and an Ambassador for the SKN Moves Nevis Chapter; Ms. Mackeisa O’loughlin from the Federal Credit Union in St.Kitts and Nevis-Platinum sponsor of the event and Jamir Claxton-Director of Sports.

Also present, were: Dejorn Liburd-Red Cross volunteer and Jeannette Grell Hull-Ambassador to the SKN Moves –Nevis Chapter.

The event will be a half-island road relay, which will be held on Saturday 26th March, commencing at 6 am.

It will be officially dubbed: ‘First federal cup challenge.’

The objective of events hosted by the SKN Moves-Nevis chapter is to promote health within the workplace and on the island generally.

The race will commence at Brick Kiln Village, with relay stations at Butlers, Fothergills, Market shop, Brown Hill and culminate at the Fit Park.

Groups can register up to three teams for the event. These will be teams of five.

Registration closes on Monday 7th March at 4 pm and the registration fee is $20.00 per team member.

Each participant would then be given a bracelet and would be entitled to a full breakfast after the event is concluded.

Persons not interested in the breakfast will only pay a $10.00 registration fee.

Another requirement for the competitors is that they will be required to open an account with the Federal Credit union.

The winning team will get the winner’s trophy and $300.00 for each competitor

Second place- A trophy and $100.00 for each competitor-along with the Queen City adventurers’ tour

Third place-A trophy and a hike with Hills/Valleys tours, in addition to prizes to all competitors from the Federal Credit Union.

The Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the event to the tune of $3,500.00
